St. Paul Art Crawl

Friday-Sunday: Rumors of spring have more than 300 St. Paul artists on the prowl again, scrubbing their studio windows, setting out new paintings, jewelry, pottery, textiles, wearables, accessories, sculpture, photos and whatever other creative expressions a long hibernation has sparked. It will all be for sale this weekend at the 23rd St. Paul Art Crawl, for which the epicenter is Lowertown but with extensions on University Avenue, the Selby-Dale neighborhood and elsewhere. Newly renovated Union Depot will house a pop-up gallery featuring work by 45 artists plus performances by nine musical ensembles and an artful tribute to the beloved St. Paul Saints (involving baseballs, natch). Pedicabs will ply their trade, restaurants will offer temptations, beer will be drunk. And perhaps the city will look as glamorous as it does in this nocturnal photo by Chris Faust.
