Commuters on the Northstar Commuter line are experiencing delays. A Burlington Northern freight train heading eastbound experienced mechanical issues near Ramsey Blvd. and is blocking the tracks.
The third inbound Northstar Commuter train pulled into Ramsey Station and riders waited for the next train to arrive. The transfered to the fourth inbound train, setting them back 45 minutes.
The fourth inbound train of the morning is using the other set of tracks to continue its eastbound run to Anoka, Fridley and Minneapolis. Delays of 15 minutes are reported, and those waiting for the last inbound train can expect it to be up to 15 minutes late, said Metro Transit spokesman John Siqveland.
