MADISON, Wis. — A special task force called together to study Wisconsin's rural schools has its latest meeting for this week Madison.
Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos created the bipartisan task force in September.
Its meeting Tuesday in Madison is scheduled to include testimony from state superintendent Tony Evers and leaders from groups representing teachers, school administrators and others.
Vos has asked the task force to study a variety of issues, including creating partnerships among school districts, transportation needs, strategies for long-term financial stability and ways to handle declining enrollment.
The task force is expected to produce a report on its findings and recommendations early next year.
