One man was dead and another was taken to the hospital Monday night after a shooting in south Minneapolis.

About 11:15 p.m., officers went to the 3600 block of Columbus Avenue S., where a shooting outside a home was reported, Minneapolis police said in a statement early Tuesday.

There they found the men. One was dead from at least one apparent gunshot wound, and another had an injury that was not life-threatening. He was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis for treatment. No names or ages were released, other than the men were adults.

No arrests had been made as of early Tuesday, and the homicide unit was investigating the case. The Hennepin County medical examiner's office will identify the victim and release a cause of death.

Police were asking that anyone with information call the tips line at 612-692-8477.
