Here are three thoughts following the Twins' 8-6 victory over the Brewers on Thursday:

1. WALTERS SHOULD HAVE PITCHED LONGER: The game was set up for P.J. Walters to pitch seven strong innings on Thursday. He was cruising with a 6-0 lead and two outs in the fifth. Then came a walk to Aramis Ramirez. 10 minutes later, the Brewers had scored three runs. Then Walters went out for the seventh and failed to retire a batter. ``I felt strong all night," Walter said. ``A couple bad pitches. The big thing was the two-out walk." Twins manager Ron Gardenhire, trying to keep his bullpen out of the game, gambled with Walters and lost. ``We thought sending him back out there - let him try to get through the seventh with the way our pitching was set up - that was ugly. That didn't work out. My bad for sending him back out there because he hung a couple more."

2. STRONG PLAY BY FLORIMON: The Brewers loaded the based again in the seventh inning. Ryan Braun hit a sacrifice fly that might have carried out in Miller Park. The big play was turned by shortstop Pedro Florimon, who sucked in a scorching ground ball from Yuniesky Betancourt then flipped to Brian Dozier for a force play to end the inning. ``That was huge," Dozier said. ``It's fun to watch Pedro."

3. LOHSE DIDN'T HAVE IT: Kyle Lohse tried to become the 13th pitcher to have a win against all 30 teams but he struggled on Thursday. He left changeups up in the zone, and the Twins had their home run swings on Thursday. He's been battling elbow problems, so he might not be 100 percent right now. The ball was flying pretty good on Thursday, too.
