Literary power couple Paul Auster and Siri Hustvedt

Northfield native Siri Hustvedt, author of "The Shaking Woman,"  "The Summer Without Men," and other books, will return to her hometown this month as the Christopher U. Light Lecturer in Literature. She'll be accompanied by her husband, writer Paul Auster, who will be Fred W. and Margaret C. Schuster Distinguished Visiting Lecturer in Literature.

 

 Auster is the author of "Winter Journal," "New York Trilogy," and many, many other books.

They'll each conduct a 90-minute faculty seminar, and there will also be three public events.

From 4:30 to 6 p.m. Feb.20, there will be a joint reading, followed by a book signing and reception in the Great Hall of Carleton College.

at 11:30 a.m. Feb 21, St. Olaf writer-in-residence Benjamin Percy ("The Wilding" "Red Moon") will conduct a guided interview of the authors in the Viking Theater, Buntrock Commons, at St. Olaf.

and at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 22, Hustvedt will deliver the convocation in the Skinner Memorial Chapel: "Reflections on Creativity," followed by a book signing.
