WELLINGTON, New Zealand - Many fans are anticipating next week's general release of the "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey." The stars call the movie a "rollicking adventure" that was enjoyable to make.

Director Peter Jackson says he hopes shooting scenes in 48 frames per second will make for a more dramatic movie and encourage people to see it in the cinema instead on their iPads. Martin Freeman, who plays Bilbo Baggins, says he drew on his experience as a 6-year-old playing war games against imaginary bad guys to help him shoot some scenes by himself.

Elijah Wood also tells The Associated Press that it was a "gift" to come back a decade after first playing Frodo in the "Lord of the Rings" movies.
