Traffic is humming along on I-94 between Clearwater and St. Cloud at this hour, but you can expect that to change as the day goes on.
MnDOT predicts traffic jams could reach up to 20 miles at times due to road work on the 7½-mile stretch between State Hwy. 24 and Stearns County Road 75. The freeway has been reduced to one lane in each direction to allow crews to rehabilitate the pavement.
The biggest delays are expected on Thursdays through Saturdays, so patience needed for anybody heading north for the weekend.
Good news is that workers will take Sundays off, so the trip home won't be so bad.
Project updates, travel times and tips on navigating the construction zone is at www.mndot.gov/d3/i94.
