• Smith Lake is one of 47 "wildlife lakes'' designated by the DNR, which allows the agency to manipulate water levels and restrict motors. • Levels of many other shallow lakes are being manipulated to improve water quality and wildlife habitat. Last year, the DNR did draw-downs on 92 lakes. Lake Christina, at 4,000 acres, is the largest.
