The beautiful feathered tyrant

• Named Yutyrannus huali, or "beautiful feathered tyrant"
• Predator lived 125 million years ago, 60 million years before Tyrannosaurus rex
• Weighed 3,000 pounds
• Was about 40 times the heft of Beipiaosaurus, the largest previously known feathered dinosaur
• Stretched about 30 feet from nose to tail
• Would have reached T. rex's chest
• Feathers were from 6 to 8 inches long
• The average temperature where Y. huali roamed was about 50 degrees, compared with 64 degrees elsewhere
