Preview: The Wild is 2-0 on its six-game homestand and will try to extend its winning streak to five games and its home streak to six games. The Wild has won nine of its past 11 overall. The Predators had points in 11 of 13 (8-2-3) before losing 6-2 to Edmonton on Tuesday night. The Wild has allowed a league-low 17 goals at home in 10 games.
Players to watch: Wild D Marco Scandella will return after missing four games because of a concussion. G Niklas Backstrom will start. He is 4-1 in his past six appearances with a .960 save percentage. He is 7-4 against the Predators with a 3.03 goals-against average. RW Dany Heatley has no goals in six games. Before Tuesday, Predators RW Craig Smith, a former Wisconsin standout, was second among NHL rookies with 15 points. D Shea Weber had points in four consecutive games and led the NHL with a plus-19. D Ryan Suter was third with a plus-15. Of Nashville's 53 goals, Weber was on the ice for 34, Suter for 32.
Numbers: Since Oct. 29, the Wild ranks first in the NHL in GAA (1.55), first in save percentage and tied for first in points (18). ... The Wild is 6-0-1 against the Central Division. ... The Wild is 1-5-2 the day before Thanksgiving, 0-5-1 in its past six attempts.
Injuries: Wild D Marek Zidlicky (concussion), LW Guillaume Latendresse (concussion), D Greg Zanon (groin) and D Mike Lundin (back) are out. Predators D Teemu Laakso (cyst) is out.
