Jerry Kill went home from the hospital around noon Thursday, and "is free to resume work when he feels up to it," Dr. Pat Smith, the Gophers' team physician, said in a statement released by the university.
"He is in good spirits and eager to get back to work," Smith said of the Gophers' first-year coach.
Kill has been hospitalized since suffering a seizure on the TCF Bank Stadium sidelines near the end of the Gophers' 28-21 loss to New Mexico State. He remained in doctors' care for a series of tests to determine the course of medication that could best insure against another seizure.
The doctor's statement declined to predict whether Kill would be on the sidelines Saturday for the Gophers' game with Miami of Ohio, but his assistant coaches have said all week that they expect him there. Despite being hospitalized during the season in six of the past 12 years, Kill has never missed a game.
