More than a ton of beef sticks sold under the Target house brand, Market Pantry, are being recalled after consumers complained about finding pieces of hard plastic or glass in the product.
The recall was issued by the U.S. Department of Agriculture on Friday when a retail chain alerted the department to the complaints.
The 8-ounce, original flavor Market Pantry Beef Sticks were made by Klement Sausage Co., a Milwaukee-based manufacturer.
They have a "use by" date of March 1, 2012. The packages have an "establishment number" of 2426B located within the circular USDA mark. The food was packaged for distribution on Sept. 1.
The department has received no reports of injuries.
