Minnesota sloughed off its number one ranking for voting turnout in last month's election.

With just under 51 percent turnout, at least five states had a higher percentage of voters cast ballots.

But some Minnesota county's residents put up a good show last month. In Cook County, in far northern Minnesota, more than 70 percent of eligible voters cast ballots. That gives Cook the state's number one turnout position.
