On Saturday, House Speaker Margaret Anderson Kelliher will have some hefty aid in raising cash this weekend.
U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar and five former DFL candidates for governor -- Rep. Paul Thissen, Rep.Tom Rukavina, Sen. Tom Bakk, John Marty and Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak -- are all listed on an invite to a Minnetonka fundraiser for the DFL's pick for governor.
The fundraiser, at former Lieutenant Gov. candidate Judi Dutcher's home, asks for $100 contributions from "friends" up to $2,000 contributions from "chairs."
The event goes from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday. That puts in smack dab in the middle of the final weekend of the 2010 legislative session. The timing might make it tough for the lawmakers, including the House Speaker, to get away without notice.
