With the Minnesota Vikings pressing to build a new stadium in suburban Arden Hills, the question remains: Is Minneapolis now completely out as a site for a new stadium? Sen. Julie Rosen, R-Fairmont, the chief Senate author of stadium legislation, said Wednesday she was "misconstrued" when she spoke of possible legislation not only for the Arden Hills plan but also to build the stadium at the team's current home, the Metrodome site in downtown Minneapolis. Rosen said that while she had legislative language for the Minneapolis plan, she was not now moving to introduce legislation for building the project at the Metrodome. But Rosen did not completely rule out legislation for the Minneapolis site. "I can't say. I don't know. I don't know, this is a moving target," she said. "I'm not going to say anything anymore," Rosen said, smiling. "Yeah, I like the [Metrodome] site – it's great. But we're focused right now on the Ramsey [County] site" in Arden Hills, Rosen said. Rosen said she was waiting to hear how much state road improvements would cost at the Arden Hills property, and also awaiting suggested legislative language from Ramsey County that could be used to introduce legislation geared toward that site. "I'm focusing on those transportation figures," she said, "and focusing on hopefully getting the bill from Ramsey really quickly."
