Regarding the May 18 news that Mike Huckabee would like to be John McCain's running mate and apologizes for his remark about Barack Obama: OK, Mr. Huckabee, say you were the Republican nominee for president, and there was a large convention of gun-toting black men. And the keynote speaker, a minister, say, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, in the middle of his speech heard a loud noise like a gunshot.

And he stopped and said, "That was Huckabee dodging a bullet," and all these gun-toting black men thought that was the funniest thing.

After the hairs were raised on the back of your neck, and you were hoping that they wouldn't really take him seriously, don't you think that you would be outraged that "a man of God," a pastor, would even have such an insensitive, un-Christian thought like that in his psyche, let alone entertained the thought enough to speak it out loud?

Your heartless comment spoke volumes. Your apology, a mere footnote none of your NRA audience was around to hear.
