Cathryn M. (Haley) Balek

Balek (Haley), Cathryn M. Age 102 of Edina, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2024. Preceded in death by husbands, James Haley, and Walter Balek, and sister Margaret Tupac. Survived by son Dennis (Jantze) Haley, grandchildren Michelle (Eric) Hudson, and Nik (Valerie) Larsen, great-grandchildren Emerson, Austen, Joseph, Lucia and Weston.

Cathryn was proud of her Iron Range and Italian heritage as well as being a Public Health Nurse for the city of Minneapolis. She was a crossword puzzle enthusiast, and tennis player, she loved to read cookbooks and was known for her sense of fashion. She was a long-time active member and volunteer at Our Lady of Grace Parish. Above all, she was a loving, devoted and generous wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Tuesday, May 14th at the Church of Our Lady of Grace 5071 Eden Ave. S. Edina. Visitation 1 hour prior to mass at church. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Edward C. Jones

Jones, Edward C. age 93 of Ham Lake, Minnesota, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather; a former pastor of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church, an avid golfer, and the most creative man you've ever met. Survived by his wife Patricia (Honee), children Teri Phillips & husband Jim, Craig Lindstrom & wife Brenda, David Jones & wife Kathy, Julie Casby & husband Patrick, Janet Samson & husband John, Joanne Hollum & husband Lee, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews; predeceased by his son Daniel Jones, 2 sisters, and 3 brothers. Celebration of Life to be held Saturday, May 11, at Spirit of Christ Lutheran Church, 2749 Bunker Lake Blvd NE, Ham Lake, MN 55304: 3 pm visitation, 4 pm service, and 5 pm meal. Memorials may be directed to Spirit of Christ Lutheran Church in lieu of flowers.


Darryl Leon Terho

Terho, Darryl Leon Age: 87 City: Minneapolis Date of death: April 27, 2024 Preceded in death by parents Earl & Ester Terho. Survived by sister Marge Aguirre. Loving children Mike & Kris Terho, Bren & Mark Freitag, Debra & Aaron Bohunko; Grandchildren Jamie (Shyrome), Alicia (Angie), Alexander & Christian (Ellen); Great Grandchildren Shyrome Jr. Nerah, Ariana, Amber, Conner & Aiden. Many loving nieces and nephews, friends and fellow Christians. Darryl was a graduate of the University of Minnesota and began his engineering career with the Minnesota Department of Transportation, lifelong employee of TCAAP New Brighton and began consulting work after closure of the facility. Darryl was an avid outdoorsman who loved nature, hunting and sports and enjoyed playing basketball, broomball, and softball. He enjoyed listening to the Twins, U of M teams, Wild & Vikings. Darryl enjoyed all that embraced his Finnish heritage of which he was very stoic and proud of. Darry will be laid to rest with his beloved grandparents Vic & Anna in Squaw Lake, MN. He will be greatly missed but live on in our hearts & memories forever.


Rose Wahlgren

Wahlgren, Rose Age 82 of Coon Rapids, passed away on May 7, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer, with her family by her side. Rose was born on May 26, 1941 to William and Erna Steiner in Nebraska. She married Ray Wahlgren in 1962 and had 3 children. In 1977, the family moved to Coon Rapids. Rose worshiped and served as a Sacristan at Church of the Epiphany. Preceded in death by her parents, 12 siblings and husband. Survived by children Pat, Sandy, and Linda (Graham) Pritchett, her granddaughters Michon (Mark) Kubat, Erika (Derek) Buchinger, and Ali Pritchett, and great-grandson Brayden Kubat. She was deeply loved, and will be terribly missed. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30AM Monday, May 13th at Church of the Epiphany, 11001 Hanson Blvd., Coon Rapids, with visitation 1 hr before mass.
