Barnett, Robert M., MD Plymouth, MN, formerly Edina, MN and Silver Bay, MN. Born November 25, 1924 in Chicago, IL; raised in Cedar Falls, IA. Died August 19th at 90 yrs of age at home surrounded by family. WW2 Veteran completed V12 program at Gustavus Adolphus, also Korean War service in Japan. Graduated Northwestern Univ. Medical School AOA scholar, followed by orthopedic residency in Iowa City. Practiced general orthopedics in Minneapolis with a specialty in infant club-foot surgery at The Shriners Hospital for Children. Retired 1989 to the North Shore of Lake Superior where with Mary, they operated the Inn at Palisade B & B. Bob loved his family, sailing, jazz, the North Shore, travel, and happy hour. Preceded in death by first wife, Suzanne, his parents, brother Dr. Bill & sister Marion. Survived by Mary, his wife of 47 yrs; sons Bill (Cathy), Tom (Debbie), Dr. Bob (Kim), John (Marty), Dick (Diane); daughter Chrisy (Pat) Hughes; grandchildren Jeff (Katie) Barnett, Katie (John) Thompson, Sarah (Sam) Talbott, Jason, Laura, Jennifer, and Nick Barnett, and R.J., Martha, and Jimmy Hughes; great-grandchildren Henry and Anthony. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Bartholomew's music fund or Methodist Hospital Hospice. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial Monday 11 am at the Church of St. Bartholomew, 630 East Wayzata Blvd., Wayzata. Private interment. Visitation Sunday (TODAY) 5 to 8 pm at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37th Ave N, Plymouth and also Monday 10 am at church. Gearty-Delmore 763-553-1411
