Kolb, Claude H. age 86, of Shakopee, died on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007. He was struck by a motor vehicle while crossing a street in Shakopee. An avid sports fan, he was on his way to attend a Shakopee boy's basketball game. Claude was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and devout Catholic. He was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church, Shakopee, a founding member of the St. Mary's Perpetual Adoration, a founding member of the Knights of Columbus Council in Foley, MN, the financial secretary of the James F. Campbell Council Knights of Columbus #1685 of Shakopee, a member of the Father Lucian Galtier Assembly of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus of Shakopee and a past Third Degree Grand Knight, also a former member of the Shakopee Lions Club. His volunteer activities included St. Francis Regional Medical Center, the Special Olympics, the Bloodmobile and Friendship Manor Nursing Home. Claude was a retired banker, having worked at the Foley State Bank in Foley until 1964 at which time he joined the First National Bank of Shakopee. He also served as an election judge for many years. Survivors include his wife of over 62 years, Dorothy (Fabeck); daughters, Kathleen Kaproth of Tallahassee, FL, Carolyn (Don) Garlock of Rice, MN, Bonita Kolb of Williamsport, PA, Marcia Kolb (John Severson) of Eden Prairie; 9 grandchildren, Jennifer Main, Robert Kaproth, Julie Krotenberg, Christopher Garlock, Lori (Pete) Kramer, Chad Garlock, Nikolas, Josef and Mikel Severson; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Youso of Anoka; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Michael & Gertrude (Lippsmeyer) Kolb; 2 sisters, Dorothy Korte and baby Jeanette Kolb. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Shakopee. Interment Catholic Cemetery. Visitation 4-8 PM Tuesday at the McNearney Funeral Home, 1220 E. 3rd Ave., Shakopee. Knights of Columbus rosary Tuesday 7 PM.
