O'Neel, Travis Age 36, currently of Manila, Philippines, from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident in Bangkok, Thailand on June 19, 2015. Survived by loving wife, Kirana; sons, Conner and Cameron, currently of Manila; mother, Jeannie (Terry) VanMaas-dam, St. Louis Park; father, Bob (Linda) O'Neel, Wayzata; brothers, Shad (Lizzy) O'Neel, Anchorage and Tyler (Erika) O'Neel, Indianapolis. Also the Eden Prairie Eagle Family, especially Jeff, Jason, John, Grant and Mike. Finally All the Fighting Sioux, especially his roomies - John, Adam and Mike. Travis was born to succeed at anything he tried. He had an incredible can do attitude and was a great teammate and leader in the classroom or on the football field with the Eagles and Sioux. More than anything, Travis had a passion for life - his family, his students and just about anyone he could enjoy a brew with. Travis was a 1997 Eden Prairie HS grad who led the Eagles to their first State Football Championship. He was more proud of the championship than his All State recognition. Next came a great football career at the University of North Dakota once again culminating in a championship, the 2001 D2 National Title and numerous awards including All American honors. After graduation, Lincoln School in San Jose, Costa Rica was the first stop with beautiful beaches and warm weather to boot. Next was Ruamrudee International School in Bangkok where he and Rana fell in love and Conner and Cameron made their first appearances. His final stop was International School Manila, where he was lead second grade teacher and ESL specialist. On the Travis O'Neel Caring Bridge site, is a card with Travis' own writing "Be the change you wish to see in the world." A great summary for an extraordinary husband, son, brother, teacher, friend............. A celebration of Travis' life will be held later this summer. caringbridge.org/ visit/travisoneel Rest in peace #44/#36!
