de Lambert, Rix Herbert, Jr. Born on February 20, 1924, died May 31, 2015. Devoted husband to Mavis (Miller) de Lambert for 67 years. Preceded in death by parents Rix Sr. and Irene (Cosgrove) de Lambert, brother Jack (Pat) and sister Dorothy (Tom) Towle. Survived by wife Mavis, children Robert de Lambert (Donna), Ann (Jim) Kalgren, and grandchildren Bridget Frances Kalgren, James Jacob Kalgren and James Rix de Lambert. Born and raised in St Paul, he spent many summers with his family as a resort resident on White Bear Lake. Rix was a three sport athlete at St. Paul Central and member of Beta Theta Pi at the University of Minnesota. During World War II he was a tail gunner on a B-24 Liberator, flying out of Italy where he completed 50 missions. He and his wife lived in Eau Claire, WI, for ten years where they made many lasting friendships. They later enjoyed more than 40 years on Gull Lake in Lakeshore, MN while owning a home in Edina. Rix spent 40 years in the steel business as a manufacturers representative. Rix and Mavis made many trips to Europe, England, Norway, and all over the United States, renting in Florida and Arizona during winter months. His passion for over 70 years was golf, making many friendships at and on the golf course. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 18 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 6820 St. Patrick's Lane, Edina. Visitation 1 hour prior to service, luncheon to follow. A private burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery with immediate family. Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society.
