Ryder, Lorin H. born Feb. 2, 1916, died May 30, 2015. Lorin was a lifelong Minnesotan, born in Minneapolis and graduated from Wash- burn High School in 1933. He had been retired for 41 years from F&M Savings Bank, where he worked as an auditor. He served as a volunteer with the American Red Cross for 5 years, and with Abbott Northwestern Hospital for 13 years. He was also a member of the Lake Harriet #277 Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Zuhrah Shrine. Lorin was a devoted member of Westminster Presbyterian Church since 1972, where he served as a Deacon and was an avid choir member for over 20 years. Preceded in death by parents Inez and Herbert Ryder, two angel wives Olive (Edgley) and Edna Mae (Seale). Survived by third angel wife, Phyllis Paul, children Robert (Karen) Ryder, Barbara (Richard) Person, John Seale, Alison (Peter) Fenn, Jay (Char) Paul, Bob (Marcia) Paul, Barbara Paul and Brian Paul, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Special interests were spectator sports (especially baseball), classical music, and bridge. Lorin always looked for the interesting in life and loved to twist words to bring a smile to people's faces. Lorin's life will be celebrated with a memorial service in the Westminster Church Chapel on Friday, June 5th at 11am, followed by a luncheon. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Westminster is located at 1200 Marquette Ave in downtown Minneapolis. (Interment private). Memorials are welcome to Westminster Presbyterian Church Choir. His kindness, wit and wisdom will be sorely missed.
