Prairie, William Warner, Sr. 80, of Savage, MN, formerly of Farmington, MN, died from a broken heart on Monday, May 4, 2015. His heart ached since the passing of the love of his life, Marlys, on January 21st, 2015. Bill gave the gift of adoration to his wife which carried them through 58 years of marriage. On the dance floor he would sway back and forth with a big smile, while Marlys skillfully danced around him. That's the way they lived their life. He did not want to dance alone. Bill worked hard all of his life to support his family. He was extremely proud of all his children, all though, he mostly told each child how proud he was of the others. If you asked him what his hobbies were he would tell you it was his family. He loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was a Great Papa! Bill served in the armed forces and was an Airman First Class stationed in Minot North Dakota from 1954 - 1957. He worked as an Air Traffic controller and leader in Farmington, MN for over 20 years. He was then an instructor at the air traffic control school. Later in life he caringly drove people to wherever they needed to go. He was a member of the Church of the Risen Savior where he served alongside Marlys. He was a faithful and principled man, took pride in his intelligence, honesty, frankness and deliberate nature. Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife Marlys; parents Howard and Sarah May; sisters Sarah, Mary Ann, Evelyn "Betty"; and grandson Bryan. He is survived by his brothers Robert "Bob", Howard "Bud" and Mike; sisters Joan and Lucille; children Becky, Bill "Buzz" and wife Lori, Mark and wife Shelle, and Cally; grandchildren Erin and husband Mike, Bob and wife Rachel, Shannon, Ashley and husband Tim, David, Caylen, Molly, Rachel, Bella, and Amy; and great-grandchildren Brendan, Owen, Sam, Christian, Ada, Mae and Brynn. There will be a graveside service for the family on Friday, May 8, 2015, 3 PM at Lakewood Cemetery, 3600 Hennepin Ave. South, Minneapolis, MN, 55408. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial gifts to help eradicate childhood cancer in honor of his great-grandson Sam. Donations can be made at with-purpose.org or mailed to 11025 41st Ave. N., Plymouth, MN 55441. Condolences can be mailed to the same address.
