Belzer, Joy age 80 of St. Louis Park, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2015. Preceded in death by parents, Joseph & Mary Oret-sky, brother Henry Oretsky, sisters, Hope Kahane and Muriel Tatelman. Joy is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Donald Belzer; children, Joseph (Susan) Belzer, Linda (Rick) Dworsky and Laurie (David) Levi; grandchildren, Aaron, Bryan and Adam Belzer, Dylan Dworsky, Rachel and Ryan Levi; great-grandson, Hunter Belzer. Joy was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba where she lived until she married Don in 1954, at age 19. They met when Don and his friends traveled to Winnipeg. Don chose Joy to be his date from a photograph and after meeting in person, he knew she was the one. She was everything to him. They raised their three children in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Joy was a kind, caring and loving woman who brought great joy to her family, many friends and everyone she encountered. She taught us all that kindness should be our default and that a simple smile can do wonders for anyone who sees it. She is missed more than words can express. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Emerald Crest in Minnetonka. Funeral Service 11:30 AM THURSDAY, March 26, 2015, at TEMPLE ISRAEL, 2324 Emerson Ave. S., Mpls. Memorials preferred to Alzheimer's Assoc. SHIVA Thursday 7:00 p.m. at Temple Israel. Hodroff-Epstein 612 871-1234 hodroffepstein.com
