Adams, James Howard "Jim" Age 78 of Apple Valley. Beloved Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa. Passed away peacefully on March 6, 2015 holding the hand of his beloved wife of 56 years, Joanne (Lovallo). Preceded in death by parents, Mary Margaret and Marvin Howard; and sister, Nancy Schilling. Survived by sons, Jim (Sharon), Kevin (Kathy), and Steven (Bob Mickelson, Jr.); grandchildren, Christina (Rod) Guetter, Laura & Annie Adams, Chris (Dawn) Adams, Katie (Nick) Donnay, and Alexander & Nicholas Adams; great-grand-daughter, Gracie Guetter; and his faithful dog companion, Slowpoke. Jim is a proud 1954 graduate of Cretin High School and an equally proud 1958 graduate of St. John's University. While Jim's greatest accomplishment was his family, he had many others including: President of the St. Paul Jaycees; Guarantee Fund Director for the Minneapolis Symphony; PR Director for the St. Paul United Way; President, Minnesota Fighting Saints hockey team and the PR firm he owned for many years (J.H. Adams & Associates). Joanne invites you to a celebration of Jim's life with a visitation from 4-8 PM on Friday, March 13 at O'Halloran & Murphy Funeral Home, 575 South Snelling Avenue, St. Paul, 651-698-0796. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 14 at 11:00 am at CHURCH OF THE ASSUMPTION, 51 7th Street West, downtown St. Paul with interment at Resurrection Cemetery. Following interment, family and friends are invited for a luncheon at Mendakota Country Club, Mendota Heights. The Adams Family wishes to extend special thanks to the wonderful staff at Augustana Health Care Center, Apple Valley, Grace Hospice, and Dr. James Finell and his outstanding staff at Metropolitan Medical Associates, St. Paul for the excellent care they all provided to Jim during his illness.
