McGowan, Catherine A. Age 62. of Palm Springs, CA. Catherine Alice McGowan was born on May 16th, 1952 in Ironwood, MI and passed away on February 14, 2015 in Indio, CA. Throughout her life she lived in Savage, MN, Sterling, VA, and Irvine, CA. Catherine earned an Anthropology degree from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She later worked with global communications companies in sales and marketing, achieving record number goals in a management position. Cathy was an avid reader, enjoyed sailing, walking her Jack Russell, traveling and cooking. The best days were spent on the beaches in Orange County, CA with family and friends. She was preceded in death by mother, Marie Audrey Johnson and sister, Sandra Marie Johnson and nephew Collin Robert. Survived by loving husband, James of Palm Springs, CA; daughter, Elizabeth McGowan of St. Cloud, MN; brothers, Charles (Jackaline) Johnson and Craig (Carol) Johnson; sisters, Caryn Johnson and Candace (Michael) Rechtenbaugh; father, LeRoy Johnson; and lifelong friend, Donna Moritz; along with many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Funeral Service 11 AM Saturday, February 21, 2015 at ST. STEPHEN'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH (4439 West 50th St., Edina), with visitation one hour prior to service at the church. Visitation 5-8 PM Friday at O'HALLORAN AND MURPHY FUNERAL HOME (575 S. Snelling Ave., St. Paul) 651-698-0796. Interment at Roselawn Cemetery.
