Cook, Kathleen Elizabeth (Kathy) 85, of Plymouth, MN, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on January 23, 2015 at her home. She was born on June 27, 1929 to Julius and Margaret Lauer in St. Cloud, MN. Kathy graduated from Cathedral High School in St. Cloud before moving to Minneapolis, where she met and married Charles Cook, her lifelong husband of 61 years. They settled down in Crystal where Kathy began the vocation she loved and exceled at: being a mom, and later, being a grandma. Kathy enjoyed visiting with friends, knitting, and attending church. She was a member of St Raphael's for her entire adult life. Later in life she discovered she was an artist, and left us a legacy of wonderful watercolor paintings. Kathy is survived by her husband, Charles; two sons, Michael Cook (Stephanie Miller) and Daniel Cook (Susan Kamper); two daughters, Patricia Bates and Elizabeth Cook; grandchildren, Jessica Mol (Caleb), Samantha Bates (Ben), Emily Cook and Kaitlin Cook; brother, Lee Lauer (Corrine) and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. She was looking forward to her first great-grandchild in March - the thought of this kept a smile on her face. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Jeanette Lauer, Anita Medeck, Donald Lauer, and Mary Ann Lauer. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday 10:30 AM at The Church of St. Raphael, 7301 Bass Lake Rd, Crystal. Interment Gethsemane Mausoleum, New Hope. Visitation Tuesday 5 to 7 PM at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37th Ave N (37th at Vicksburg Ln) and also 9:30 AM Wednesday AT CHURCH. Memorials preferred to the Church of St. Raphael.
