Daniel James 'Danny' Goan

Goan, Daniel James "Danny" age 58, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2014 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House, St. Augusta, MN. Services will be Monday, December 15, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at St. John's Episcopal Church, 1111 Cooper Ave. S., St. Cloud, MN. Burial will be in Roscoe Cemetery, Roscoe, MT. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN. Danny was born July 8, 1956 in Billings, MT to J. Philip and Joan (Potter) Goan. He moved with his family to Minnesota in 1962 and attended Baker School in Northfield and then the Hammer School in Wayzata. In 1982 he moved to Camphill Village, an intentional life sharing community for adults with special needs. Danny was active in the community and very proud of each and every job he performed. Dan was gregarious, loved everyone he met and brought joy to every setting. With only limited vocabulary he was able to share a wry sense of humor and unconditional love. He made us better people. Dan enjoyed music, animals, friends and family. He is survived by his mother, Joan Goan of Edina, MN; sisters, Gerry Lee Lukaska of Edina, MN; Annie (Nick) Cronin of Edina, MN; Kathryn (Jim) Wiant of St. Cloud, MN; his beloved brother, John Goan of Big Sky, MT; and nieces and nephews. Danny was preceded in death by his father and brother-in-law, John Lukaska. Memorials are preferred to Camphill Village Minnesota, 15136 Celtic Drive, Sauk Centre, MN 56378 or Quiet Oaks Hospice House, 55337 Galaxy Road, St. Augusta, MN 56301.
