Elkins, Persis Allen Gleason Passed away on October 22, 2014 surrounded by her loved ones. She was 54 years old. Persis was born in Exeter, NH on October 19, 1960. A child life specialist by training, Persis dedicated her career to the care and support of children and their families struggling with serious health issues, and for the last 14 years worked as the Director of Family Services at the Ronald McDonald House of the Upper Midwest. She was a devoted wife and mother, an avid knitter, runner, paddler, and weaver, and a tireless advocate for those who she served so passionately. Persis was preceded in death by her parents Ted and Anne Gleason, and is survived by her husband Tod, daughters Nora and Tess, sisters Sarah Gleason Ross (Robert) and Eliza Gleason Kean (Patrick), nieces, nephews, countless friends and her dog Jack. She has left an indelible legacy of love, compassion, fiber art, and joy that has forever changed all those whose lives she touched. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 1:00 pm at St. Stephen the Martyr Episcopal Church, 4439 West 50th St. in Edina. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, Upper Midwest.
