Anderson Lona Ella Anderson, age 85, of Wichita, Kansas, died December 27, 2004, while hospitalized at Shawnee Mission Hospital in Kansas City. She was surrounded, both physically and spiritually, by her family at the time of her passing. She was born in Slayton Township, Minnesota, on July 24, 1919. Her parents were Arnold and Laura (Olson) Shellenberg. On August 25, 1938 she was married to Donald Stanley Theodore Anderson. After his military service during World War II, they lived in Texarkana, Texas, LaCrosse, Wisconsin and finally Wichita, Kansas, where he had been in radio broadcasting. Following his death on December 28, 1961, she entered nursing school to support and educate her family. She became an LPN and was employed by Wesley Medical Center, retiring from Wesley after many years of service. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Wichita. She remained true to her husband's memory, "the love of her life," until her death, following her difficult and protracted illness. We thank her for the love and support and all she gave of herself, to us, during her time upon this earth. Survived by two sons and one daughter, Donald and Diane Anderson of Stillwater, Minnesota, Arnold and Karen Anderson, and Laurel Street of Overland Park, Kansas; five grandchildren and their spouses, Jessica Anderson, Jason and Ceallaigh Anderson, Kiersten and Kevin Burgess, all residing in Minnesota, Christopher and Caroline Anderson and Garrett and Sarah Street, residing in Kansas and two great-grandchildren, Kylie and Kaitlyn Burgess, residing in Minnesota. Memorial service Friday, December 31 at 11 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Wichita, Kansas. Internment at Grandview Park Cemetery, Hopkins, Minnesota. Private burial. Memorials in her name to Grace Lutheran Church, 3310 E. Pawnee, Wichita, Kansas.
