Scott-Sutter, Elinor at age 51, passed away from pancreatic cancer on Friday, September 12, 2014 just five months after finish-ing her last mile of the Boston Marathon. Born March 20, 1963, in Sioux Falls, SD, Elinor displayed an incredible determination for her many passions: poetry, orchids, photography, and endurance running. While battling illness for the past several years, Elinor continued to run marathons, including the 2013 Boston Marathon where both she and her daughter, Martha, were impacted by the terrorist bombing. Unwilling to concede her dream, Elinor continued to train and prepare while her health continued to decline. She returned in April with her daughter to finish the race she started. A devoted mother, through her actions and art, Elinor modeled for her children and those around her a fierce passion for life and an un-wavering determination despite life's trials. Because of her compassion and willingness to help others, she formed deeply meaningful relationships. A long time Minnea-polis resident, Elinor was a teacher and most recently a self-taught network engineer. She is survived by her sons Andrew (27), Henry (19), Edward (10), daughter Martha (16), husband Buck, mother Donna, sisters Cathi Scott and Jodi Scott. Visitation 5-7 pm Tuesday, September 16, at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, West 50th St. and Vernon Ave. at Hwy 100.
