Young, Jack G. Age 87. Passed away peacefully on September 9, 2014 surrounded by his family. Preceded in death by brother, Wally and parents, Casey and Vera. Survived by his wife, Adelle of 55 years; son, Grant (Kim); daughter, Judy McCoy; grandchildren, Ty, Sophia and Eva. Jack served his country in the US Navy during WWII and graduated from the University of Minnesota. He was the Chief Probation Officer of St. Louis County in Minnesota, Superintendent at St. Cloud Reformatory from 1964 to 1968, former Warden at Stillwater prison from 1968 to 1972, Director of Amherst Wilder Community Corrections from 1972 to 1978, Commissioner of Corrections for the State of Minnesota from 1978 to 1982 and was Director of Ramsey County Corrections from 1982 until his retirement in 1989. Celebration of Jack's life will be held Thursday, September 18 at 12 noon at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 & Co Rd 5), Stillwater. Private family interment Cambridge Lutheran Church Cemetery, Cambridge, MN. Gathering of family and friends Wednesday, September 17 at 5-8PM and also 1 hour prior to the service.
