Lozar, Frank Lawrence age 85, passed away peacefully September 7, 2014. Born July 5, 1929 in Ely, MN, son of John and Marie Lozar. Frank graduated from Ely High School in 1947. He attended St. John's University graduating in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict in the Medical Corps. He then attend-ed the University of MN obtaining a masters degree in Chemistry and Biology. He worked at the University of MN as a research chemist for 36 years. His main hobby was playing in drum and bugle corps for over 50 years. In 2005 was inducted into the World Drum Corps Hall of Fame. Frank was a member of the Zuhrah Shrine, Masons, Arcana Lodge, and American Legion. He is survived by his two sons, Daniel and Joseph of Mpls; sister, Agnes Lozar of Ely; and his companion of 22 years, Elaine Grovum. He was preceded in death by his wife Angela; sons, Lawrence, John; and his parents.
