Hallock Sally Lent King Hallock, 84, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on April 23. She fought her year long battle with cancer with dignity, courage and strength. The family wishes to extend its sincere gratitude to the women of Allina Hospice for all their sensitivity and kindness during this time and ask that memorials be sent to them in lieu of flowers: Allina Hospice and Palliative Care, 2550 University Ave. W., St. Paul, MN 55114 or to Hannah King at 4524 Chowen Ave. S., Minneapolis 55410 to help furnish a bench at Lake Harriet in Sally's honor. Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Rose Lent; her brother, Henry Lent; her sister, Jeanette McClung; her spouse, Joe "Red" King; her beloved husband, Lester Hallock; and her dear companion, Charlie Paper. She remains in the hearts of her children, Dan King (Christine), Hannah King, and Paul King (Natasha); her brother, Art Lent (Barbara); her sister, Sue Berne; her sister-in-law, Sylvia Stewart; her grandchildren, Jeremy, Jesse and Danielle; nieces and nephews; her stepchildren, Naomi Kassler (Barry), Norman Hallock (Rebecca) and their children and grandchildren; and many friends and grandpets. Sally led a rich life. She has loved opera since childhood, mah jong, interior design, museums and field trips to small towns and lakes. She passed the love of these to her children. Her world travels began with her husband, Lester, and continued throughout her life. She gave her time, mandel bread and chicken soup to friends in need and also spent time volunteering for Meals on Wheels, Courage Center, Sholom Home and the Ronald McDonald House. She will be sorely missed. Funeral Services will be held Friday April 30 at 4PM at Temple Israel, 2324 Emerson Ave. S., Minneapolis, with a luncheon to follow. A Service honoring Sally will be held at Temple Emmanuel Cemetery in Duluth on Sunday, May 2 at 12:30PM. Cremation Society of MN (612) 825-2435
