Kelly Eugene C. Kelly, age 80, of Bloomington, passed away February 11, 2003. Preceded in death by parents, Earl and Caroline; son, David; and his mother, Joanne. Survived by wife, Vonda; children, Jim (Lesleigh), Bob (Monika), John (Paige), Mike (Nancy), Paul (Melissa) and Tom (Debbi); grandchildren, Heather, Heidi, Michael, Kristen, Ashley, McKenzie, Ryan, Lauren, Jenna, Christopher and Brian; great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Otto, Paige, Quinton, Emma and Christopher; stepchildren, Greg (Linda), Brad (Bev), Monica (Steve) and Lori (C.J.); step-grandchildren, Jessica, Daniel, Rebecca, Amy, Ryan, Jacob and Laura; brother, Earl (Beverly) Kelly; and sister, Ethel (Leonard) Winier. Graduate of Harding High School, 1941 and U of M, 1945. Played professional baseball for 5 years, including St. Paul Saints, Brooklyn Dodgers chain, 1945 and 1946, manager of Willmar, MN, Elgin, Illinois, and Bloomington, MN (34+ years) Parks & Recreation, 1950-1994, official for North Central Conference, 1950-1987 and umpired 7 Minnesota Twins games in 1979. Gene was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be greatly missed. Memorials preferred to the family. Private interment Bloomington Cemetery. Funeral service Monday 1:00 PM at Bloomington Covenant Church, 10150 Xerxes Ave S., Bloomington.
