Bartholomew, Jack Colburn, Jr. age 57 of Minneapolis, crossed over to surf that big solar wave in the heavens on July 6, 2014, following a short battle with bladder cancer. He was enveloped in the love and support of his friends, whom he considered angels. A radon educator and contractor for more than 25 years, Jack dedicated his adult life to the fight against radon-induced lung cancer. He was also an Eden Energy Medicine practitioner. He was born in Billings, MT, on Dec. 15, 1956. His family moved to Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands when he was six, and Jack was raised surfing the island's waves. After graduating from Kwajalein High School, he attended Montana State University in Bozeman, and later resided in Butte, among other places, before arriving in the Twin Cities. A man of many passions, Jack was an outstanding athlete, who used his surfing skills to pioneer snowboarding in Montana, and excelled at volleyball and soccer. A lifelong photographer and artist, he chronicled the lives of his dearly-loved friends. Preceded in death by his father, Jack Colburn Bartholomew, Sr. Survived by his mother, Eleanor Rose (Wilks) Bartholomew; sister Tamara Rose (Bartholomew) Cummings (Michael); nephews Bryan Bartholomew (Regan) and Kevin Cummings; nieces Amber (Cummings) Frankovich (JC); Mary (Cummings) Antonich (Timothy) and Amy Cummings, all of Butte, MT. He will also be missed by an uncle, aunts, cousins, and many friends whose lives he touched deeply.
