Dickenson, Roger "Bill" William Jr. Age 83, of Elk River. Passed away on Dec 10, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roger & Minnie; nephews, Lance and Andy; niece, Kaylee. One of Bills proudest accomplishments was being owner and operator of the school bus company in Elk River, MN. Bill shared a love for the bus business with his brother Ralph and their many friends from Anoka MN. Bill loved his family very much and was very close with Ralph and little sister Margie. The three of them spent much of their lives together nurturing family businesses. The kids who rode his school busses and his many employees, Bill considered his extended family. He loved fishing and going to swap meets with those closest to him including the Nowthen Threshing Show. Bill loved the people of Elk River and spent much of his time later in life at the local restaurants. He loved Perkins, Denny's, and The Olde Main eatery where Bill and his friends would gather to share a meal and visit often. Bill would have a hard time going anywhere in Elk River without people of all ages coming up to say hello. His many friends are a reflection to his kindness and generosity. Bill was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. Bill is survived by his sister, Margie; brother, Ralph; sister-in-law, Mary; nephews, JD (Marietta) and Matt (Kim); nieces, Catherine, Julie (Vince), and Annie; great nieces and nephews, Billy, Dillon, Jamie Lynn, Daniel, Tiffany, Craig, Ryan, Jill, Gary, and Ashley; special friend, Jane; other family and many friends. Funeral service will be at 12PM on Fri., Dec. 15, 2017 at Dare's Funeral Home, 805 Main St., Elk River, with visitation starting at 10:30AM. A luncheon will follow the service.
