Dorothy 'Dottie' Grotz

Grotz, Dorothy "Dottie" Dorothy or Dottie as she likes to be called, passed away on 12/9/2017. She was born in 1948 in Mankato, MN as the third child of Ethel and Dr. J Harvey Shutts. Dottie graduated from Edison High School in North East Minneapolis. After, she worked for Northwest Bell Telephone company as an operator and later as a fraud investigator. She and John Grotz were married in 1976 at Bethel Seminary. They have lived in New Hope ever since, where Dottie was a member at New Hope Church. She was involved in many church activities including choir, children's choir, Women's Bible Study, and various nursery programs. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary; and brother, Jim. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, John; children, Jim and Sara (Edgar); granddaughter, Aubrey; and brother Carl (Marilyn) Shutts. Funeral Service will be Thursday, 12/14/2017 at 2:00 PM at New Hope Church, 4225 Gettysburg Ave. N., in the Family Center. Visitation one-hour prior. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
