Nelson, Ronald Dean of Chaska, MN, passed from this earth following an 8 year battle with cancer on Friday, December 8th, 2017. He was born on June 26, 1945 in Lewisville, MN, to Ellsworth and Irma Nelson, the seventh of eight children. He is survived by his wife, Ann, his son, Paul (wife Brenda) , his daughter, Nicole, his grandson, August, his granddaughters, Leah and Bethany Villa, his great grandsons, Cayden and Clyde and his beloved kitties Teddy and Tony. He is also survived by his sisters Deanna Cole, Harriet (Russell) Nagel, and Linda (Tom) Boesch, plus many nieces and nephews. After graduating from Truman, MN High School in 1963, Ron served in the Army for two years, much of that time in Germany. When he returned home, he attended Mankato Business College where he received a two-year degree in accounting. He married Ann in 1968 and eventually moved to New Ulm, MN where he worked for 3M. His work in rubber and plastic molding there eventually took him to Alabama and Iowa, where he managed plastic molding plants. In 1994 he and Ann moved to Chaska, MN where they built the house in which they now reside. Ron retired when he was diagnosed with cancer. He did continue to work in plastic molding part time with Preferred Tool in Blaine, MN. Ron will be remembered for his love of fishing. He took many fishing trips to Canada with friends; and in the past two or three years with his son and grandson. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, and the great outdoors. Memorial services will be held in Chaska at Bertas Funeral home on Saturday, December16th with visitation at 2 PM and service at 3 PM.
