Leon G. Satkowski

Satkowski, Leon G. Age 70, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at his home in Gaithersburg, MD. Beloved husband of Jane, father of Christina, and brother of Sheila. He earned a B.Arch and M.Arch. from Cornell University and a Ph.D. in Art History from Harvard University. He introduced hundreds of students to the beauty of architecture during a nearly 30-year career as a professor of architectural history at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and authored several books and articles about Italian Renaissance architecture. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 10 AM at Saint Joseph Church in Poquonock, CT. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology in Ithaca, NY.
