Malkovich, Michael L. 63, of Minneapolis died December 4, 2017, in hospice following a long illness due to cancer and complications of treatment; he stoically bore the trials of his illness without complaint. He was born December 31, 1953, to Richard and Theresa Malkovich. He graduated from Neil Armstrong Senior High School, and attended Carleton College. He worked as a skilled designer of commercial cooling and heating systems. As a young man he excelled athletically and he took pride in having played for the St. Paul Jazz Pigs rugby club. He was a tireless worker and avid carpenter who completely remodeled his turn-of-the-century home and created fine pieces of furniture in his elaborate wood shop. Mike is survived by his brothers, Al and Dan, a niece and two nephews, two grand nephews and three grand nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Theresa. Memorial service will be held at Brooklyn Park Chapel of Cremation Society of Minnesota at 7835 Brooklyn Boulevard North, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota on December 17, 2017, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
