Mordy, Brooke Davis age 96, died peacefully December 3, 2017, in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Brooke was born April 16, 1921, in Seattle, Washington. She married Wendell A. Mordy in November, 1942. The family lived in Hawaii, Sweden, Reno and California before Brooke and Wendell came to Minnesota in 1977, where Wendell served as President of the Science Museum of Minnesota until 1984. In Minnesota, Brooke was an active member of educational and social groups, including the Peripatetics, the New Century Club, and the Neighborhood Seminar. After Wendell retired, they spent many winters in Tucson, Arizona. Brooke leaves daughters, Lee Anne Willson (Stephen) of Ames, Iowa and Ruth Friedlander of St. Paul, Minnesota; grand-children Hannah Friedlander of Minneapolis, MN (Jon Badala-menti), David Friedlander of Snowmass, Colorado, Kendra Willson of Turku, Finland, and Jeffrey Willson (Juan Ren) of Ames, Iowa; and great-grand-daughters, Laura Ren Willson and Edna Ren Willson of Ames, IA. She was pre-deceased by her sister Augusta Davis McClain and her brother Edwin Davis. There will be a memorial for friends and family at a date to be determined. Memorial gifts may be made to the Pat O'Connor Library at the Textile Center of Minnesota, to the League of Women Voters, or to the American Civil Liberties Union.
