Campbell, Crawford M. (Whitey) A gifted athlete and gracious gentleman of the Greatest Generation passed away December 5, 2017 at the age of 93. His family was thankful to have his last few weeks of life with him to gather and retell stories about his time growing up in New Hampshire and attending Dartmouth; his trip to the '48 Olympics in St. Moritz on the U.S. hockey team; his days playing golf as a long time member of Minikahda Country Club; and his adventures as a tail gunner with the U.S. Army Air Corps in India and Burma during World War II. We treasure the memory of Whitey dutifully lacing up the boots of his four little boys on our many ski trips together. Whitey finished his long and successful business career at Sit Investments, where he started when he was 75 and worked happily until his last illness. He loved Gene and Roger Sit and all the people he knew there. He leaves behind his loving wife and best friend of 66 years Sue; four sons Ford, Bruce, Mac, and Charlie (Randi); and two very special grandsons Cameron and Logan. No public service is planned. Memorials preferred to Minnesota Military Appreciation Fund c/o Sit Investments.
