Fullerton, Thomas Jackson Born on March 11, 1953 in Memphis, Tennessee to Thomas Fullerton and Shirley Francis Fullerton. The family resided in Midtown Memphis until their move to Wayzata, Minnesota 4 years later. Tom attended the Blake School and graduated from Orono High School in 1971 and received a BA from Whittier College in California in 1975. At Whittier, he was an elected member of the Board of Governors and a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, an honorary political science organization. He spent a summer in Washington interning for Representative Dan Kuykendall. He then received his MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona in 1977. Tom married Gretchen Oakes in the summer of 1977. They were married for 5 years. He was employed for many years by Holiday Inn, International Marketing focusing on Latin America. In 1987, he moved to New York City to work as the marketing director of the Conrad Division of Hilton Hotels. He next accepted a management position with International Market Square in Minneapolis, MN. In 1993, Tom founded a management consulting firm focusing on employee search in the telecommunications industry. Today, this company "matches" employers with upper management employees in various industries. Tom was an avid political junkie with a broad understanding of global politics. The theatre, especially New York theatre was a passion and a hobby. He helped secure the London production of Shadowlands for the New York theatre circuit. His distinctive and theatrical voice was recognized by all who met him and often caught the "ear" of commercial producers. It is said that all very bright people have a great sense of humor, and his sharp wit was no exception. He will be remembered as a fun, sophisticated and charming man that was the most sought after dance partner at any party! The most descriptive word that embodied Tom is charitable. He was abundantly giving of his time and his love to, his family, church, community and legions of friends. His personality and kindness filled any room he entered, and he will be remembered as vivacious and one of a kind. He is survived by his sister Clare Ford Fullerton (Feil), Malibu, CA and his brother Joseph Francis Fullerton, Reno, NV. His father Thomas Fullerton, his mother Shirley Francis Milnor, his brother Haines Crossan Fullerton and his stepfather Lt. Col. William H. Milnor predecease him. A memorial service was held on December 1, 2017 at Independent Presbyterian Church in Memphis, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Church Health Center in Memphis, TN.
