Beutell, Virginia Margaret (nee Koehl) 50-year resident of Edina, MN, passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 1, 2017. "Grandma Ginny", or "GG" as she was known to her great grandchildren, was 91 years old. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul T. Beutell (1993), her daughter, Terry Beutell Rawlings, (1997), and her brother Albert John Koehl Jr. (2013). Virginia is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Beutell McLaughlin of Coral Gables FL, and her two sons Tim Beutell (Beth) of Eden Prairie, MN, and Tom Beutell of Edina, MN. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren- Brian, Chris, Claire, Megan, Greer, Kate, Jackie, Brett, Danielle and Paige, and 13 great-grandchildren- Graiden, Casper, Kaitlyn, Tristan, Titus, Maggie, Owen, Kirstyn, Rose, Wyatt, Barrett, Adeline and Reagan. Virginia Margaret Koehl was born on Aug. 21, 1926 in Cleveland, OH to Albert John Koehl Sr. and Margaret 'Peg' Helen Koehl (nee Brady). Her father's side of the family was of German Lutheran extraction and had resided in upstate New York since the 1840s, while her mother's side was Irish Catholic and had resided in Cleveland since the 1850s. Virginia was a 1944 graduate of St. Joseph Academy in Cleveland. She met her husband, Paul, while they worked at the Sherwin-Williams Co., marrying in 1948. After several moves within Ohio, Ginny and her family lived in Charlotte, NC and Midland, MI before moving to Edina in 1967. 'Ginny" was known to her family and friends as a true lady, in every sense of the word. She was elegant, funny and resilienteven in her final weeks of life. Even into her late 80s, she loved to walk Bredesen Park in Edina, and enjoyed Saturday dinner at the Eden Avenue Grill following 5:15 Mass. She was a member of the Church of St. Patrick-Edina for fifty years. She also loved to travel, and did so ofteneven in her later years. A funeral Mass is scheduled on Tuesday, Dec. 12 at Church of St. Patrick - Edina, 6820 St. Patrick's Lane, Edina, MN 55439. Fr. Glen Jenson will be the Officiant. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM followed by Mass at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ginny's life. Inurnment will take place July 2018 in Brook Park (Ohio) at Holy Cross Cemetery, where her parents, her brother, and many Brady relatives are buried. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Church of St. Patrick-Edina at 6820 St. Patrick's Lane, Edina, MN 55439.
