Fruth, Carol Joyce Loving mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, age 78, of Edina, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2017. Born in Brooten, MN. Graduate of The College of St. Benedict; and Master of Education at The University of St. Thomas. Carol taught for over twenty years for Hopkins School District. She was an accomplished singer of opera. Carol's biggest joy in her life was her family. Preceded in death by son, Karl; husband, Dick Ficken; father, Steve Sonstegard. Survived by mother, Marion Sonstegard; daughter, Betsy Fruth and her father, Terry Fruth (Mary McEvoy); granddaughter, Molly; step-daughter, Nancy Ficken; sisters, Joan, Elaine, Stephanie and their families; special nieces, Laura and Catie; other relatives and friends. Memorial Mass Friday, December 1st, 11 am with visitation 10 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 5071 Eden Avenue, Edina. Memorials preferred to Breast Cancer Research Foundation. bcrf.org
