Anderson, Margaret J. age 92, of Mpls. Passed away on 30 October 2017. Preceded in death by Raymond E. Anderson, husband of 63 years. Survived by sons Dean, Stuart, and Brian, grandson Jeremy, and siblings William Johnstone, Phyllis Taylor, and Sylvia Cross. Margaret was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, 17 August 1925, graduated from Deephaven High School in 1943, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1948 and a Master of Arts in Library Science in 1970, both from the University of Minnesota. Margaret taught at Minnehaha Academy before joining Augsburg College (now Augsburg University) as librarian in 1967, advancing to library director in 1977, and retiring in 1990. Thereafter she volunteered at Augsburg tackling unique cataloguing and archiving projects. She is remembered for her patient, diligent professionalism, and her caring, compassionate personality. Her deep devotion for Ray and her three sons was always evident. Interests included violin, cuisine, and wide ranging reading. Margaret's memory is cherished by family, friends, and colleagues who were deeply enriched by her loving and gracious presence. Memorial service to be held on January 18 at 1pm in the Hoversten Chapel, Foss, Lobeck, Miles Center, Augsburg University, Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers family requests donations in memory of Margaret J. Anderson to Episcopal Homes Foundation (ehomesmn.org/…).
