Leonard, Eric L. Of Woodbury. Eric died peacefully at home on 11/3/17 at age 55 after valiantly fighting a 3 year battle with lung cancer. As a non-smoker, Eric defied all odds and shared many wonderful moments with his family after the unexpected diagnosis. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 31 years, Jill, and their 3 children, Alexandra Mensing , Kyle Leonard & Mitchell Leonard. He is survived by his mother, Rachel Leonard, siblings Pam Leonard and Todd Leonard, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many special friends. Eric is preceded in death by his father Fred. Eric loved his family deeply and never strayed from placing them at the very top of his priority list. His positive attitude, quick wit and sense of humor were infectious and made everyone around him smile. Everyone admired his diligence and compassion as a Prosecutor for the Ramsey County Attorney's Office for over 20 years, especially for the many child abuse victims that he represented. The Leonard family will be forever grateful for all who joined "Team Lenny". Special thanks to the doctors at the Mayo Clinic. The Health Partners palliative & hospice care staff were also a true godsend for their gentleness and love. Visitation at O'Halloran & Murphy Funeral Home (8700 Valley Creek Road, Woodbury) on Thurs. 11/9 from 4 pm 8 pm. A short visitation at Woodbury Lutheran Church (7380 Afton Rd, Woodbury) on Fri. 11/10 from 1 pm 2 pm, followed immediately by a Funeral Service.
