Eckberg, James W. (Carlton) Beloved husband, father & grandfather went home to be with the Lord on 10/7/17. Jim was a WWII combat veteran, life member of VFW Post 217 & DAV Chapter 1. He served with the 80th Inf. Div. in Europe at age 18. He lived an active & fun life, touching many lives through his work & volunteer activities, including church, PTA groups, Mpls. Aqua Jesters & BSA in 3 counties. Jim worked in the optical industry & later with ophthalmologists (Mpls. & Naples, FL). He & Pat owned a stained glass store in Naples where they custom-designed & installed windows, etc. His activities were limited in later years due to health issues, but his wit & smiles never quit. Jim was preceded in death by son, Gregg. Survived by wife, Pat, son, Scott (Jill), daughter, Lori (who, through her grief took care of all details for her Dad). Jim is also survived by grandchildren, Ian (Kenia), Sheena (Ben), other family, friends & acquaintances. Dearest Jim will never be forgotten. "The memory of the righteous is a blessing."
